PRACTICE WITH A PURPOSE
Do you realize that golf is one of the only sports which you practice not on the actual playing ground? For this reason you must try to practice the way you would play:
- - Use your pre-shot routine
- -Try bad and uneven lies
- - Use different clubs or aim at different targets with every shot
- - Use one ball for putting
- - Limit your use of artificial aids for swing and alignment
- - Have a specific goal
Here's a good drill for better practice:
Pretend that you are playing the first few holes on the golf course. Visualize each shot from tee to green as you play them and then go over to the practice green and 'putt out'. This is a great way to engage your brain in all of the skills required on the course!
